“The NHS is one of the greatest humanitarian acts that has ever been undertaken in peacetime” (Stuart Hall) On 5 July 2020, it will be 72 years since the NHS and social care system was established in the United Kingdom. Bishop Richard of Bedford joins our online worship today, to help us reflect on and give thanks for this remarkable achievement.    Click here to join our Worship.

Summer Hampers: The same compassion, but a different solution.

For several years we’ve distributed food during the summer to combat “holiday hunger.”  The situation this year is different, but the need is the same (even with continued support from the government).  Once again we aim to deliver essential food supplies to all the families that request it via the two primary schools in the village.  However, because of logistical complications we will not be delivering fresh food and we will deliver fortnightly.  To hear more, watch our Online Service where Helen Caldwell explains in more detail.

Rather than requesting donations of food, this year we are asking for your financial support so we can make a bulk purchase.  There are a number of ways you can do this….
Click here to donate by debit or credit card.
Bank transfer details: Sort Code: 40-52-40, Account No: 00099644 (Ref: Hampers)
Cheques made payable to Wheathampstead PCC can be delivered to The Rectory, Old Rectory Gardens. Wheathampstead. AL4 8AD.

We are very grateful for every donation.  Last year your generosity helped us to feed 40 families.  Thank you in advance for your support again this year.
God bless you – Richard

We are continuing, as a Church, to consider how best we can move back to a more normal weekly pattern of worship in our church buildings.

Following consultation with a representative demographic of the church family, the decision has been made to delay reintroducing Sunday Services in St Helen’s & St Peter’s Churches until  September, at the earliest.

We are hopeful that we will be able to worship together in our buildings before then, but are still in the process of thinking through how best to do that, in a way that is safest for all.

Moving (slowly) towards a new normal

We’re here for you and help is at hand!
We have set up teams offering both pastoral and practical support, so please let others support you – they are keen to do so! Hilary Hollick is helping organise this – so do contact her by email here, or on 01582 832567.  Alternatively call the village wide helpline “Support for All” on 01582 380910.
