“Normal” Services

We have a variety of services through the month, on Sundays and midweek, and welcome all ages to any of them. Transport can be arranged, particularly for the elderly, who might otherwise find it difficult to get to any of the services. Please contact us if you would like further information.

Service of Holy Communion. This follows the 1662 Book of Common Prayer using traditional language and is a quiet and reflective service : 45 minutes.

4th Sunday

Choral Evensong. This is a peace-inducing service in which the ‘song’ of voices sounding together in harmony is heard at the ‘even’ point between the active day and restful night, allowing listeners time for restful contemplation  : 60 minutes.

Parish Communion (except the 3rd Sunday of each month). The main service at St Helen’s and suitable for all ages. When you come to a service, you will be given a booklet which will enable you to share fully in the service.Children who are rising 4 and above leave their parents at the start of the service to join their own Junior Church groups. A specially dedicated “children’s corner” where there is a carpet, cushions on the floor and bags of toys to play with, is available for children under the age of 3 in the Lamer Chapel. Parents and carers are welcome to make use of it at this time. After the service there is the opportunity to meet others over a cup of tea or coffee in the chancel : 1 hour 10 minutes.
