St Helens Church, High Street, Wheathampstead, St Albans, AL4 8AA. Worship Times: 10am every Sunday

18-Oct Email from the Rector

Welcome to the weekly update from St Helen’s and St Peter’s Churches.  Including…

  • Two very different services for our Season of Remembering
  • Details of our Sunday services in church, and links to our Online Sunday Service.
  • Join the team to keep the church clean

This is the time we traditionally remember those we love but are no longer with us.  This year we will hold you and those who have died in our prayers at a special Evensong service at 6pm on 1st November.  Not everyone is able to come to church at present – and our capacity is limited.  But everyone can have their loved ones remembered and join in the service when we publish it online.

At this service, we will light a candle for every person we have been asked to remember and their name will appear on screen as the candles are lit.

Please add the names of the friends and relatives that you’d like remembered at the service by clicking this link.  There is no limit to how many people you can ask to be remembered, and they do not need to have had any previous connection to Wheathampstead or St Helen’s Church!  You are welcome to forward this email to others so they can add names to be remembered too.

Do you have an hour to spare on a Friday morning once or twice month?

We are looking for some additional help in the important work of cleaning St Helen’s church. This involves light work including some vacuuming, sweeping, dusting and wiping down surfaces. It’s normally done first thing on a Friday morning in teams of two who then leave the church open for the remainder of the day. It takes up to about an hour and the frequency depends on the number of volunteers but would not be more often than fortnightly. If you can help in this way please contact Helen Caldwell 07974 762997.

Let’s get social…

We look forward to catching up on your latest news either on Sunday at 11am or Wednesday from 10:30am.  Please use the links below as we gather together using the video conferencing platform Zoom.
