Join us for Richard and Claire’s last Kids Worship! – 3.30pm in St Helen’s Church. Fun, informal worship with songs, stories and craft. Especially suitable for primary age children and smaller siblings, but all are welcome. We start with crafts in the Chancel and will finish this time with refreshments to send Richard and Claire off.

FAREWELL GIFT FOR RICHARD AND CLAIRE
As Richard and Claire leave the parish on 13th July, we would like to give them a gift to
reflect our thanks for their ministry for last 15 years. There are several ways to contribute:
  • By credit or debit card on the contactless device at back of church or on the church website – https://sth-stp.org/giving/
  • By bank transfer to Wheathampstead PCC with reference ‘Richard gift’ (Sort Code 40-52-40, Account Number 00099644)
  • By cheque to Wheathampstead PCC or put cash in envelope clearly labelled and give to a churchwarden
Closing date for donations is Friday 11 July

Please contact Madeleine on 07881 782559 if you have any questions.

We plan to give Richard and Claire a book with all our messages and memories in. If you would like to write or draw something, please take a large or small label from the basket by the south door. Completed labels can be posted in the box there.

The Community Larder will again be running from St Helen’s church every Tuesday 10-12 during the Summer holidays.

Please contact Helen Caldwell (07974 762997)  if you would like to volunteer to help on one or any of those Tuesdays.  This will involve receiving the food delivery that morning, laying out on tables in the lady chapel and welcoming those coming in to use it, offering coffee and cake from Coffee in the Chancel.

In addition if you would like to donate non-perishable goods please leave them in a box in the Lady Chapel, which will be available from the beginning of July.  Any financial donations are also very welcome. Please reference them for the Community Fund. Thank you!

All are invited to Richard’s Licensing Service at Watford St Mary’s. Please sign up by clicking here.

Vacancy Prayer Themes for 10th July
  1. Please pray for regular attendance and a fresh commitment from the congregation. If people are unwell or away for a long time we pray for their health and speedy recovery.
  2.  Please pray that we would have wisdom when reviewing the program of activities and commitments the church has. What is feasible and wise to do in this period.
  3.  Please pray for good communication. People need to feel both informed and listened to. This includes the wider community not just the church.
  4.  Please pray for how people are feeling, their emotions at this time of change. We want the soul of the church to stay healthy.
The usual Morning Prayer sessions will continue to run in church (Monday and Tuesday) and on Zoom (Monday – Wednesday).

St Helen’s Church Development Project
Do you have fund-raising or marketing experience?

We have formed a small group to raise funds to adapt the church building to support our mission to serve the village community with up to date facilities, including modern accessible toilets, enhanced kitchen facilities, meeting room and more flexible use of the space. The first phase will be two new toilets in a new small extension and a larger and more functional kitchen with further phases to follow.

We would like to recruit two people to the group and in particular we are looking for someone who has fund-raising experience and another person with marketing experience.  These are voluntary roles.

So if you, (or you know of anyone), who has these skills and is interested in being part of this exciting project, we’d love to hear from you (either from the wider community, or the church family).  Please contact Ginny Cooper on Ginnycoop@hotmail.co.uk  or Keith Andrews on keith.andrews19@btinternet for more information.
