Death of Queen Elizabeth II

God of love,
We thank you for the life of The Queen,
for her service to our nation,
and for her faith in you.
Be close to all of us who mourn,
that we may we find comfort and hope in your love,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Following the sad news of the death of Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II, our church will be serving the whole community in the following ways. 

St Helen’s Church will be open between 9am-5pm
Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the peaceful space, there will be prayer resources available and the opportunity to light a candle and write a message of condolence.  These will continue to be available whilst the church is open over the coming days.

We have agreed with The Parish Council that anyone who wishes may place floral tributes, or similar mark of respect, at the War Memorial, on the High Street.


Events to commemorate the Queen’s life of service and sacrifice:

  • Civic Service on Sunday 18th September, 4pm – 5pm
  • Public Screening of the Queen’s Funeral on Monday 19th September, 11am
