Mothering Sunday 2020 was the first service we held without a congregation in St Helen’s Church, so although it wasn’t quite a year ago – it is a rather sad anniversary of sorts. And Mothering Sunday this year will be rather different too for so many of us. However, we hope that worshipping together at our livestream service will lift our hearts and brighten our day. Afterwards we can greet one another online at 11am as we gather for coffee on Zoom.

Save the date! Annual Parochial Church Meeting – Tuesday 27th April at 7:30pm via by Zoom. The APCM offers you a report on Church activities in 2020 and the Financial Statements for that year.
For years we’ve been working to strengthen our partnership with St Helen’s School. Throughout the past year our support has been rather different. Now we’d like your help in showing our appreciation for all their amazing hard work for the children of our village. As a token of our appreciation we’d like to provide each of the 42 staff at St Helen’s School with a quality Easter Egg, a small flowering pot plant and a handwritten thank you card.
URGENT APPEAL: Help us thank our teachers
Please help us by buying a nice Easter Egg, and/or a small flowering pot plant AND write a card expressing your gratitude to the whole team at St Helen’s School for their dedication, commitment and hard work over the past year. Then deliver your card and gifts to either Richard & Claire at The Rectory or Hilary Hollick at 23 Bury Green. There is no limit to the number of teacher you can support, but we do need a card to go with every Easter egg and plant gift set. And hurry we need them by Wednesday 24th March.

We would like to encourage all who have been offered a vaccination to take it as ‘none are safe until all are safe’. You may also consider giving a donation in thankfulness for our own vaccinations so that either vaccines can be purchased for countries that need then or to support people living in communities that have been severely affected by the pandemic.

The COVAX fund which is buying and delivering vaccines to countries around the world – you may have seen their first work taking place in Ghana recently. COVAX is being generously supported by the UK Government but individuals can contribute too here.

Christian Aid has an appeal for humanitarian relief in support of communities overseas affected by COVID that just don’t have the kind of social safety nets that we’re used here in the United Kingdom. Donations to their appeal can be made here.
