Thy Kingdom Come.

Thursday is Ascension day which marks the start of the ten day period of prayer leading up to Pentecost, now known as Thy Kingdom Come. (There is a special Ascension Day service being put together by the different churches in the Deanery which we will send out on the day.) There are loads of great resources to help fire up your prayer life including Apps, journals, craft activities and suggested prayers from different denominations.  Since Justin Welby launched Thy Kingdom Come a few years ago it’s become a global prayer movement.  You can find out all about it here.  And there are five popular ideas for families in the pdf here

 

 
 

Taking our faith out of the building into the public square…

 

 
 

In our bible reading today (Acts 17) the apostle Paul takes the message of faith not to the synagogue, but to the public square.  Although our churches are closed, faith has moved back into the public square with over a third of young adults (18-34) participating in an online service recently.  We are delighted to welcome an increasingly wide congregation to our online services & if new to St Helen’s we’d love to hear from you, so please click here if you would like to get in touch by email.  To sign up to our mailing list and receive these emails regularly click here.

Fancy meeting up for a cuppa?  

We’re making it a priority to offer plenty of ways we can stay connected to our church family.  So, starting tomorrow we will be offering two opportunities each week to catch up socially on Zoom for a video chat.  Each Sunday morning at 11am we will gather for “Coffee after the Online Service” at 11am.  (Don’t worry if you haven’t actually watched the service – there won’t be a test!). And on Wednesday we’re meeting for “Coffee not in the Chancel” from 10:30am until midday.  You can drop in for a short while or stay throughout.
