? Come to our jolly sing-a-long at the The Elephant And Castle for instant festive cheer. Grab a pint and sing a Christmas carol – don’t let it be a Silent Night! Tell us what you did Last Christmas while we Rock Around the Christmas Tree. We don’t want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing we need – your presence! Join us for a Wonderful Christmas Time!

Help! Enthusiastic Singers needed to Spread Christmas Cheer
We need your help! There are several members of our congregation and wider community who are housebound and would be greatly cheered by a brief visit from Carol Singers. So, please come and join us on Tuesday 20th December starting at 6pm as we travel round the village spreading joy as we go.
We will meet at MacIntyre Home on the High Street, and end up back at The Reading Rooms for one last sing-along and a thirst quenching drink. For our planning it will be important to know numbers, so please click here if you can help and we will send you further details.
Remember, you don’t need to be a great singer – we are looking for cheerful and enthusiastic!

Do you have questions this Christmas?
Alpha is an opportunity to bring your questions and thoughts on life and faith to a group for discussion in the context of the Christian faith. It’s about encouraging a curious attitude rather than us providing answers. Each week we will begin with a meal, watch a short video and hopefully have a stimulating discussion.
Our Alpha course starts on Wednesday 11th January 2023 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at The Rectory. It runs weekly for seven weeks from 11th January to 22nd February.

BEREAVEMENT NOTICE
We are very sad to let you know that Rev’d Jill Hazelwood has died. She died peacefully at home on Tuesday morning, having been ill for a number of years. Jill was an immensely caring person with a humble and gentle nature. Her first career was as a primary school teacher – and she taught generations of children at St Helen’s School through which she is very fondly remembered. Her deep spirituality and quiet determination led her to be one of the first women ordained as a priest in the Church of England. She combined her ministry with her teaching role beautifully showing amazing pastoral care to young and old alike. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Please pray for Colin, and Jill’s wider family in their grief.The Memorial Service for Jill will be held on Wednesday 11th January at 2pm in St Helen’s Church.
