4-Dec Children and Families Email

Welcome to the midweek Children and Families email from St Helen’s and St Peter’s Churches. Including…

  • Bible story and crafts for Kids Worship
  • Online Christingle service
  • Family Carol service
  • Knitted Nativity figures

As we haven’t met for Kids Worship for a while, here is a recent edition of Open the Book, a weekly assembly made for St Helen’s school. Peter and the disciples have a rather scary boat trip!

Join in with the prayer and try out the actions to the song at home!

Have you seen any of the Nativity characters out and about?

Our knitted Nativity figures are out and about – on social media (Facebook and Twitter) travelling around the parish and hiding in High Street shops as part of the Parish council’s Knitivity Trail.

Like or Follow us on Facebook @StHStP or Twitter @StHStPChurch to make sure you see all our news.

Online Christingle service available from December 11th

Over 500 Christingle kits are being supplied to St Helen’s and Beech Hyde school and Nursery to be used in classes in the last week of term whilst watching an online Christingle service recorded by Linda and Richard.
If you would like a kit (you just need to supply an orange) for a child or grandchild not at one of the schools, please contact Linda at 58linda.thomas@gmail.com before Dec 11th
This year we are delighted to offer a new carol service. The Family Carol service, lasting about an hour and suitable for older children, will be led by St Helen’s Junior choir. We retell the Christmas story with Christmas music and carols and hear from characters in the Nativity story themselves.

NUMBERS ARE LIMITED DUE TO SOCIAL DISTANCING. FREE TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM MIDDAY ON DECEMBER 6TH

The service will be recorded and will be available on Youtube at a later date.
