Email – Happy Easter – AGAIN!

Happy Easter – AGAIN!

Easter day was two weeks ago, but it’s still the Easter Season – so, a very Happy Easter to you all.  That’s the first thing worth celebrating.

This week in our Online Sunday service we meet Thomas who has questions about the resurrection.  We all have questions – especially at the moment.  In response, we asked a number of people where they thought God might be present or, at work, in the midst of this difficult situation. I’m sure you will find their thoughts interesting.

If you find our Service helpful, please forward this email to anyone else who may find it helpful – or share it on social media.

Happy 100th Birthday to John Brennan
(for Thursday 30th April)

How about that for something worth celebrating!  Of course, it will not be quite the celebration we had planned for our retired minister Revd Dr John Brennan, but please help us make it a fitting tribute to all his years of service.  He’s our very own Captain Tom!  There are lots of ways you can contribute (see the list below) …

  • Send a Birthday Card. Drop it through my door and I’ll hand deliver it on the BIG day. (The Rectory, Old Rectory Gardens, Wheathampstead AL4 8AD)
  • Get your children to make a card or draw a picture and I’ll hand deliver those too.
  • Click the link to send a greeting by email (hand written or typed) and I’ll print them out and include them in a card from the Church family.
  • Or meet me online on Tuesday 28th April at 4pm to record your personal video message to John which I will play to him on his birthday. Here’s how…

Meet me online for Zoom video conference at 4pm on Tuesday 28th April where we can each record a personal birthday greeting to John for his 100th Birthday.

Thank you for the very generous and affirming feedback we’ve received saying how much you have appreciated the services over Holy Week and Easter.  Having spoken to lots of you over the past few weeks it is encouraging to hear how you are coping with the challenges life throws at us.  So many of you are seeing God’s blessings in different ways and have cultivated ‘an attitude of gratitude’.  But even those of us who are positive most of the time need support occasionally – So, please do let us know if there are ways we can help you – or someone you know who is struggling.

God bless you, with love and prayers – Richard
