Archdeacon Jane visits St Helen’s Church!

The Venerable Dr Jane Mainwaring is our guest preacher at Sunday’s 10am Parish Communion Service. Do come to church to extend to her our Warm Wheathampstead Welcome and to hear her preach.

Livestream links will be emailed on Sunday.

As you are aware, England has moved to step 4 of the ‘Roadmap out of Lockdown.’  We recognise that for some, easing of restrictions brings additional risk to themselves or those they love who have remained vulnerable to the virus. In order to continue to protect you and others who come to church,

  • We continue to request that face coverings be worn in church.
  • We encourage the use of hand-sanitisers and registering with the Test & Trace QR code.
  • We will keep alternate pews closed, unless we reach capacity.  Then we will fill up the empty pews from the front of the nave.
  • The congregation is now able to sing from behind face masks.
  • We will continue to receive communion in one kind, standing in the crossing.
  • Please continue to have conversations after the service in the churchyard.
  • Post-service refreshments will remain on hold.
  • These arrangements will be reviewed again in September.

Thank you for your support in this.

Watch our choir ‘live’ on tour!

Our choir, supplemented by some choral friends, will be singing in Exeter from 30th July – 1st August: Evensong in Crediton church on 30th and then the cathedral on Saturday and Sunday plus Eucharist on the Sunday morning.

If you’d like to watch and listen to our stars, services from Exeter Cathedral will be livestreamed via this link

The services will also be recorded and available to view after the event.

The Ark comes to St Peter’s!

We are running the Ark outside at St Peter’s. A small friendly group with lots of space. Everyone welcome, suitable for babies and toddlers.
Every Wednesday 9.30-10.30am. Free play followed by singing.
Numbers are limited. Please email Linda at to book your place, giving the name and age of your children.
We will be continuing to run the Ark over the holidays, older siblings welcome, but bring something to do.
Any extra help welcomed!
