Who do you think Jesus is?
In the light of Peter’s declaration that Jesus is God, Richard asks us to consider our response to the question ‘But what about you, who do you say Jesus is?’

Help us share the load of video editing…

Until now, all of our Online Sunday Services have been edited by one incredibly dedicated and reliable volunteer.  It’s long overdue that we should share the responsibility so we don’t rely on one person.  Could you, or someone you know serve the church by editing our weekly Online Sunday Service?  It could be shared by more than one person and they don’t even need to live locally as it can all be done remotely.  Perhaps someone studying a related subject at Uni???  We currently use Apple Mac software – we may even be able to lend you a laptop with the necessary software.  Please contact us if you know someone who could help – especially in September!

The choir…back singing in church…?!
You may be aware of more easing of restrictions which will allow the choir to once again sing in church.  Rob Milner our Choir master, together with Simon Pusey our organist and other members of the choir and PCC are working hard on making arrangements for re-introducing the choir to rehearsals in church and services once they begin again.  Our priority is to make this safe for all concerned and of course, we understand if not all choir members wish to return just yet.  We hope to bring more news on this soon!

Midweek Communion Services on pause.

Over the years our parish has benefited enormously from the contribution made by different retired ministers.  The Bishop has recently written to the ministers who are over 70 and encouraged them to prioritise their own safety and therefore pause their involvement in taking services.  Because of this it will not be possible to continue our mid-week Communion services through August.  We very much look forward to the time when the retired ministers can be more actively involved again.  We will review whether we restart the midweek communion once our Sunday services have resumed in September.
Growing Together
Don’t forget to take photos of your burgeoning tomato plants, runner bean beauties and crunchy carrots for a Photo Gallery that will form part of our Harvest celebrations in the Autumn.  No need to send the pictures in quite yet… but get snapping and we’ll let you know what to do with them nearer the time.

An Important Date!
Annual Parochial Church Meeting

Our APCM will be held on Tuesday 6th October 2020 at 7:30 pm.
Closer to that date a final decision will be taken as to whether we
meet in St. Helen’s Church or virtually on-line.The APCM offers you a report on Church activities in 2019 and the Financial Statements for that year.

Anyone on the Electoral Roll can vote for new PCC Members and
Deanery Representatives. We have lived through challenging days.
Please join us to reflect on our role in a changing situation.

Sunday Services in church!

We are happily planning to be able to offer a regular Sunday 10am Parish Communion service in St Helen’s church from the 6th September.

The details are yet to be finalised and we appreciate that not everyone will be comfortable to return to church just yet, so a priority is to maintain an online service together with a physical one.
St Peter’s has not been forgotten, but for the moment services will be planned for St Helen’s only.

Keep an eye on future emails for more details.

We’re here for you and help is at hand!
We have set up teams offering both pastoral and practical support, so please let others support you – they are keen to do so! Hilary Hollick is helping organise this – so do contact her by email here, or on 01582 832567.  Alternatively call the village wide helpline “Support for All” on 01582 380910.
