Messy Church!
Several people have asked me what exactly Messy Church is:
It’s an hour of crafts suitable for preschoolers and primary aged children followed by a short interactive kids’ service with a story, action songs and interactive prayers – we call it Holy Chaos! Then we all sit down to a free family tea – Sausages in buns this time! Do join us, and invite your friends. All welcome!

Volunteers needed to join the locking up rota for Thursday and/or Saturday.
Full training provided! Contact Helen Caldwell on 07974 762997.

We have a fantastic volunteer opportunity to come to our offices at 3a and help us tidy and organise.  It will be physical as there is lots of lifting and carrying.  If you can spare a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 8 you are our people! Lunch will be provided and tea, coffee and squash a plenty! Days would be 21/22 March and the more people the merrier, grab a group of friends if you can.  Let me know if this sounds like you, phone Sam on 07883814458 today!

Parish Council Annual Parish Meeting
Thursday 23rd March in the Memorial Hall at 7.30pm

Your chance to find out what the Parish Council has been doing the past year
and to ask questions. Refreshments available.

It has been about four years since we had regular youthwork in the parish and we are determined to relaunch our work with older children and young people as soon as possible.  Working with young people is a critical part of our vision to be a church for all generations, so please pray for a successful relaunch of work with young people in the parish in the very near future. If you would like to know more, Rt Rev Jane Mainwaring, the new Bishop of Hertford is hosting an evening reception from 7:30pm on Monday 27th March at the Luton head office of national charity Youthscape.   No need to RSVP, just come along if you can, alternatively speak to Richard or Claire to find out more.

After Easter we will be embarking on a pilot project along with St Helen’s School called Hymnpact!

“This project aims to help churches and schools build and strengthen links with each other and encourage children and young families into church communities and growing discipleship through the power of joyful singing!”

As part of the preparation for the project, we are inviting you to give your views on singing and families in church by completing a short and quick online survey. Please click here to take the survey

We look forward to hearing your views. Thank you for taking the time to support us in this project.

Kind regards

Linda Thomas, Vicky Baker and Michelle Davies
on behalf of St Helen’s Church and St Helen’s CE Primary School .
