Christmas Lunch on Jesus
Each Sunday we have someone, or sometimes two people, who lead the Prayers of Intercession during our 10am Service. We are looking for people willing to join the rota of those who lead these prayers. The rota is organised well in advance and it’s possible to swap if you have other commitments and you can be paired up with someone experienced if you wish.
Come along to a training session after church on Sunday 22nd January to find out what is involved.
email Richard to let him know you are coming, or if you are interested in finding out more, but can’t make the workshop.
Week of Prayer
The gathering for prayer will be at St Thomas More next Tuesday 24th January at 12.00pm. The theme is racial justice and the time of prayer will last 30 minutes and be led by a member of each of our 3 churches. This will include Bible Readings and short meditations on the theme and prayer.
Pancake Party
With the other churches in the village, we are organising a pancake party for all-ages on Shrove Tuesday (21st February) from 5pm at the Chapel Halls. Like the Summer BBQ, this is a great way to express the unity in our church family and mix with members of different congregations and all ages. Put the date in your diary and let us know if you’d like to help.
Thank You!
Your ink cartridges have already raised more than £50 for our church!
If you have ink cartridges lying around at home and would like a quick and easy way to recycle them, bring them to St Helen’s Church!
Do your bit to save the planet – just pop them into the box in the Chancel.
*Please note: we can only recycle ink cartridges, not laser or toner cartridges

A few days before Christmas a few of us gathered to deliver 20 Christmas dinner hampers to those families in Wheathampstead who had told us that they were needed. Christmas Lunch on Jesus (CLOJ) was a new initiative for us to buy into and it was a great success. Since 2007 a church near Brent Cross has been organising for festive hampers to be delivered to people of any or no faith who are struggling financially. This year they delivered 10,000 hampers! Their aim is to share God’s love in a tangible way with as many people who need it. We hope to be able to offer this support to those in need in our community again next Christmas.
