I am sad to report that after more than five years as one of the most dedicated and hardworking volunteers at St Helen’s, earlier this week Rob Milner submitted his resignation as our Director of Music.  The past few months and the discussions over the choir position and digital organ have taken their toll, especially on Rob which have led to his decision.

Under Rob’s tenure the choir has grown in numbers and ability, Evensong has been one of our key areas of growth and we have enjoyed some spectacular music – especially at our Christmas and Easter services.  Rob will continue in post until after Easter, and we will let you have details of his farewell service once it is arranged.  We are committed the continued role of the choir in leading our worship and (with Rob’s support) we will shortly begin work to recruit a successor.

Please continue to pray for Rob and the choir – we are incredibly grateful for all his hard work and look forward to more inspiring music from the choir between now and Easter.

With my continued prayers for unity and harmony within our church family – Richard

Donkey Sorted!
We are pleased to say that, thanks to a generous donation, we have got a donkey booked for Palm Sunday on April 10th. (And it’s not two people in a pantomime costume as someone suggested!)  Keep an eye out for details of the service beginning at St Peter’s and walking down to St Helen’s.

The Revd Kate Daymond sends her love to all. She was very moved to see so many friends from Wheathampstead at her licensing service and would like to say ‘thank you’ for all the cards and well wishes received.

VACANCIES
Harpenden Child Contact Centre
Are you interested in helping children from separated families keep in touch with both parents? Harpenden Child Contact Centre, based in All Saints Church hall, Harpenden (on the 2nd and 4th Saturday afternoon of each month),  provides a safe place for children to meet their non-resident parent. HCCC  Trustees are looking for a new Co-ordinator to provide good leadership to our teams of volunteers and an effective service for families. This is an immensely rewarding role; the Co-ordinator will work from home but on occasions will also attend Contact sessions.  If you are interested, please contact our Coordinator Ken Brennan on 07913 761167
