CHURCHES COUNT ON NATURE
We found an astonishing 35 species of flowers and shrubs, 9 different types of tree, saw or heard 8 birds and spotted 3 insects in St Peter’s churchyard after the St Peter’s Praise service last Sunday, 9 th June. We also found tracks of wood mice and/or voles in an artificial tunnel left out overnight in the base of a hedge. These findings are being reported for the annual Churches Count on Nature campaign, contributing to a national database of wildlife in our churchyards. It was lovely to see more than 30 people at the service themed for Creation and nature and then helping to find flora and fauna around St Peter’s.
CHRISTIAN AID WEEK
Our churches raised a splendid £3,143.65 last month for Christian Aid Week. Thank you for your generosity. Christian Aid’s work around the world helps some of the poorest people to work their way out of poverty.
