SUNDAY’S SERVICES

Join us in St Helen’s Church for our Parish Communion Service at 10am.  If you can’t join us in church, please join us online.  Click here or on the image above for the YouTube link or click here to view from our website.

St Peter’s Praise

Relaxed, informal and friendly with more modern worship music.  If you’ve never been before, why not try St Peter’s Praise at 10am tomorrow?  All are welcome at St Peter’s Church, Gustard Wood (just past Mid Herts Golf Club on the way to Kimpton).

This year Christian Aid Week focuses on Malawi, where Christian Aid is helping communities to grow pigeon peas for food and for income.  Pigeon peas are a hardy, drought-resistant crop, coping with climate change.  Please support this and other worthwhile projects by donating on-line here or by picking up a traditional envelope from the back of the church and returning it to St Helen’s.  For enquiries please contact Simon Best by email or on 07786 704353.

Thy Kingdom Come is all about praying for people to come to know the amazing, life-transforming love of Jesus. We are encouraging everyone to choose 5 people they know, and to pray for them.

Why not watch this video from The Rt Revd Dr John Sentamu as he encourages us to pray for 5.

Ascension Day Service
8pm Thursday 18th May
St Nicholas Church

All are invited to join with other local Christians to mark this important day in the Christian Calendar.

There’s still time to book a Vintage Afternoon Tea experience!
Saturday 27th May, St Helen’s Church Wheathampstead, AL4 8AA

£20 a ticket for the “full shebang” – sandwiches, scones, cakes
and, of course, lashings of tea (or coffee if you’d really prefer!)
Please note that we are now only able to take bookings for the 3.30pm sitting.

All proceeds go to The Haven, to help fund our work building young people’s mental resilience through our small groups and courses. Please click here to book your tickets now.

CELEBRATE PENTECOST AT ST HELEN’S CHURCH!
Join us on at our 10am Pentecost Service on Sunday 28th May 2023 and stay for brunch as we celebrate the birthday of the church. We’re offering sausage baps, pastries, muffins and fruit with the usual tea and coffee after the service. Everyone is invited!
If you can help cook or serve, please email Richard.

Vacancy at St Helen’s & St Peter’s Church, Wheathampstead
for a volunteer to join our Finance Team

You do not need to be an accountant, but you should be numerically confident with the honesty and enthusiasm to oversee the income and expenditure moving through the Church’s funds (approx. £175k per annum). Ideally you will join our small Finance team with a view to taking on the role of Treasurer over the course of the next year in order that our current Treasurer can step back in 2024.

The Treasurer is an essential part of the Leadership team and is fully supported by the Rector, Churchwardens, and other members of the Finance team. It is a hugely rewarding position, vital in enabling us to continue to spread God’s love in Wheathampstead and beyond.

Ideally you will join the Parochial Church Council (PCC) which meets 10 times a year.  In keeping with our commitment to safeguarding, you will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

If you are interested, please email Helen Caldwell on helen_caldwell2000@yahoo.co.uk for more information or to arrange a telephone call to discuss further.

Volunteers needed to join the locking up rota for Thursday and/or Saturday.
Full training provided! Contact Helen Caldwell on 07974 762997.
