SUNDAY SERVICES

Join us in St Helen’s Church for our Service at 10am. This week we are celebrating RSCM “Music Sunday” with a special Choral Setting for communion.  If you can’t join us in church, please join us online.  Click here or on the image above for the YouTube link or click here to view from our website.

St Peter’s Praise

Relaxed, informal and friendly with more modern worship music.  If you’ve never been before, why not try St Peter’s Praise at 10am tomorrow?  All are welcome at St Peter’s Church, Gustard Wood (just past Mid Herts Golf Club on the way to Kimpton).

Come and see us at Village Day

There’s lots going on, here are some of the different things the church is doing at Village Day tomorrow:
EAT CAKE:  As usual Wheathampstead Churches Together will be raising money by selling refreshments including tea, coffee and a wonderful selection of cakes in the Memorial Hall.
SUPPORT OUR SCHOOLS WORK: Linda and team will be engaging the younger generation with stories and craft – see below.

KEEP SAFE:  We have a supply of free Sun-cream and water if the heat becomes too much for you (or anyone you know).

TAKE THE WEIGHT OFF YOUR FEET: Outside our storytelling / craft tent there will be tables and chairs to sit down and relax.

Open the Book goes on Tour to Village Day!

This year the Kids Worship and Open the Book teams will be sharing the joys of Bible stories, songs and crafts with the children at village day.

Every hour, on the hour, from 1pm to 4pm there will be a new Bible story, songs to join in with and in between times there will be some crafts to enjoy as well.

If you enjoy Kids Worship, bring your friends! Children, show your parents what happens at Open the Book at St Helen’s school. Bring your grandchildren to enjoy the fun!
Roadies needed after church and at the end of the afternoon (T-shirts can be provided!) also anyone to lend a hand with crafts for about half an hour during the afternoon – please email Linda 58linda.thomas@gmail.com
Part of the recently launched Vision for our church includes a Priority of “Helping people encounter God’s Love”.  One way we are seeking to do this is to deepen our own spirituality. Our Daily Bread is a way of regularly sharing bite-sized pieces of information about different ways of praying and engaging with God through other spiritual practices. Last Sunday, Pippa Legg talked about Bible in One Year. To watch, please click here, or on the image below.

Bible in One Year is an App produced by HTB Church in London.  It’s a great way to get an overview of the whole story of God and His love for us.  You can access it online, or download it to your smartphone / tablet, (click on the links below). Every day there are three passages of scripture all linked to a theme with a reflection and a short prayer. You can read it or listen along and if you are short of time, there is even an “Express option”.

Do you know a young person who loves singing?

If so, tell them about our Choral Scholarship scheme.  We have a mixed voice choir which sings every week at the Parish Eucharist and once a month at Choral Evensong.  We currently have Choral Scholar vacancies for school pupils in years 10 to 13, to start in September.  Details can be found on our website. To download an application form, click here.  Simon Pusey, our Director of Music would be delighted to answer any questions by email or phone – simon.pusey@ntlworld.com or 07973 453222.  He would also like to hear from anyone of any age interested in joining our choir, whether as a Choral Scholar or other member.
