SUNDAY’S SERVICES

Join us in St Helen’s Church for our Parish Communion Service at 10am as we continue our Sermon Series on “Foundations of Faith”. If you can’t join us in church, please join us online.  Click here or on the image above for the YouTube link.

Relaxed, informal and friendly with more modern worship music.  If you’ve never been before, why not try St Peter’s Praise at 10am tomorrow?  All are welcome at St Peter’s Church, Gustard Wood (just past Mid Herts Golf Club on the way to Kimpton).

Community Larder 2023
This summer holiday, we are providing free food to those in need in the community. In order to provide a more friendly welcome. anyone who visits the larder will be helped by a volunteer from St Helen’s Church or the URC and there will be refreshments available.  The larder will be open on Mondays, 10am – 12pm, in the Chapel Halls on Brewhouse Hill.

If you would like to help, please contact Helen 07974 762997 or helen_caldwell2000@yahoo.co.uk
We need 2-3 volunteers each Monday (24th and 31st  July, 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th August) who can help set up, stock the larder and serve refreshments. If you are unable to volunteer in this way, please consider donating non-perishable food or making a financial contribution to support this community project. To donate to the Community Fund online, please click here. Our bank details are available here if you wish to make a bank transfer. If you would like to gift aid your bank transfer donation, please contact our treasurer, Madeleine

Ink Cartridge Recycling

Do continue to bring in your ink cartridges to St Helen’s Church! Do your bit to save the planet  – just pop them into the box in the Chancel.

*Please note: we can only recycle ink cartridges, not laser or toner cartridges

The parish golf day is open to the whole St Helen’s and St Peter’s family and their families, friends and neighbours. All ages and all standards are welcome and do not need to be Mid Herts members. The format will accommodate 9 or 18 holes, as preferred. Non-players are invited to come just for dinner. Cost is likely to be in the region of £40 pp for golf and dinner and £20 for dinner only. Our practice has been to charge all players the same price for the golf, whether members of Mid Herts or not.

St Helen’s School Needs You!
St Helen’s School is looking for Governors. Being a Governor is a hugely rewarding opportunity to improve our school, contribute to the life of the village and, most importantly, help children to reach their potential.
The Governing Body sets targets for raising standards, monitors progress in delivering them, supports and challenges the performance of the leadership team and decides policy and future development plans.
As well as attending meetings, individual Governors also look at specific areas of the school’s work in more detail. Governors have access to training to help build on existing skills or to develop new ones.
No special qualifications are needed; the most important thing is to have a keen interest in the school and be prepared to play an active part in its work. You don’t need to be a practising Christian to join the Governing Body, but Governors need to be supportive of the Christian ethos of the school.
This is a voluntary role, though many employers offer time off to carry out Governor duties. Meetings are usually held in the evening, but it is important that you are occasionally able to visit the school during school hours.
Applicants will require a DBS check.
If you would like to talk to existing governors about their experiences and the role we would be happy to arrange it. Please contact Diana Batt, Chair of Governors on Diana.Batt@sthelens.herts.sch.uk , our Recruitment Governor Gill.Sadler@sthelens.herts.sch.uk or alternatively, you could call the Headteacher, Kaye Healy on 01582 832106.
