Important News.
We are very sad to share the shocking news that John Burgess died very suddenly at home last week.  John has been a key character in the life of Wheathampstead for many, many years.  He had re-joined the choir recently and will be sorely missed.  Please pray for his brother and wider family.  John’s funeral will be at St Helen’s and we will let you have details once arrangements have been made.

Choir & Digital Organ Update
For several months we have been conducting a trial of a digital organ to accompany the choir whilst they sing in the chancel.  There are several aspects of the trial still to complete and as part of this the organ has been moved to the Lady Chapel.  The choir have asked for the congregation to experience the impact of not having them to lead our singing.  So the choir will not be singing at the 10am service tomorrow – this is likely to impact the quality of the sound on the livestream for which we apologise.

SERVICES ON SUNDAY 6TH FEBRUARY 2022

Join us at our 10am Parish Communion Service – either in-church or online. Please see the notes at the bottom of this email about how we are keeping one another safe during the pandemic, and please don’t come to church if you feel unwell.

MOSSY CHURCH*
Sunday February 6th

We will be celebrating a “Mossy” Christingle, outside at St Peter’s Church at 3.30pm. Dress for the weather!

* A bit like Messy Church but outside,  Mossy Church is interactive, hands-on and great way for all ages to explore Christian spirituality.

The Ark Baby and Toddler group has restarted at St Helen’s church on a Wednesday morning from 9.30-11.00am. Join us for play, refreshments and singing. All welcome. Do spread the word to neighbours with little ones.

Donkey Needed!
Following the success of our Live Nativity at Christmas, we would love to have a real donkey for Palm Sunday on April 10th.
If you know of someone who has a donkey (not a horse) and would be willing to bring it to St Helen’s for a couple of hours on the Sunday morning, please let Richard or Linda know.  We will happily cover transport costs.
