Parish Communion Service – in church and livestreamed
Stay Connected to the Church Family
As we emerge from the the pandemic we are here to help you navigate your way forward. We will be running sessions called, “Best Foot Forward” to reflect and learn from the past year so we can face the future well.
The initial sessions will be circular walks starting and ending at St Helen’s Church. Walking at a gentle pace and taking regular stops will create space for our own personal reflection, the opportunity to share our experiences of the pandemic with others, and we will pause to pray along the way.
There will be more information in the midweek email – including details of how to book your place.
(Later in the Spring we will also offer sessions in a “café format” without the walk).
300,000 STEPS IN MAY SPONSORED CHALLENGE
If you’re feeling fit – or want to get fitter – you can help raise funds for Christian Aid Week (10-16 May) by taking their 300,000 Steps in May challenge. This works out at an average of just under 10,000 steps per day for May as a whole.
Get fit, have fun and recruit sponsors to help support Christian Aid’s vital work in many of the world’s poorest communities. Quite a few of them have been disadvantaged even further by COVID-19.
You can sign up for the challenge at https://www.christianaid.org.uk/appeals/key-appeals/christian-aid-week/challenge-yourself, where you will also find a guide to collecting your sponsorship online through a Just Giving page.
There will be more information soon on other, less energetic ways to support Christian Aid Week. If you want to know more, please contact Simon Best (simonpf.best@gmail.com).
QUIZTIAN AID: VIRTUAL QUIZ NIGHT
If quizzing is your thing, you can help support Christian Aid Week this year by joining in a fun-filled online quiz, Quiztian Aid, at 7 pm on Saturday 8 th May. The quiz is suitable for all the family. You can register in advance at https://www.christianaid.org.uk/appeals/key-appeals/christian-aid-week/virtual-events and Christian Aid will send you details of how to join in.
