SUNDAY SERVICE

Join us in St Helen’s Church at 10am for our Parish Communion Service. We welcome Rev Hugh Wikner, our guest minister, who returns to lead and preach at this service. If you can’t join us in church, please join us online. Click here or on the image above for the YouTube link.

CALLING ALL BAKERS!!!

Could you help make cakes for the buffet reception after Rev Andy’s Institution service?

Guests need to be able to eat them from a serviette – no forks/spoons – and need to have a food allergy label. It would be helpful if you could let Correen know what you are making and roughly how many portions. Catch her at Sunday service or email People can either see me on a Sunday mornings or email boothroydcm@hotmail.com

Vacancy Prayer Themes for 23rd April

  1. Please pray for regular attendance and a fresh commitment from the congregation. If people are unwell or away for a long time we pray for their health and speedy recovery.
  2. Please pray that we would have wisdom when reviewing the program of activities and commitments the church has. What is feasible and wise to do in this period.
  3. Please pray for good communication. People need to feel both informed and listened to. This includes the wider community not just the church.
  4. Please pray for how people are feeling, their emotions at this time of change. We want the soul of the church to stay healthy.
The usual Morning Prayer sessions will continue to run in church (Monday and Tuesday) and on Zoom (Monday – Wednesday).

The People’s Emergency Briefing Screening

Sunday 19 April 2026, 6pm

Nave Unreserved Seating, St Albans Cathedral

What’s happening with climate and nature? How does it affect everyday life in the UK?

See this special community screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing – “an eye-opening film” bringing together UK experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like:

  • Extreme weather
  • Food
  • Health
  • Cost of living

The People’s Emergency Briefing film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK.

After the film there will be a short open discussion about what it means for our community and what we can do locally. You can also talk to several local groups who work on these issues and find out more about how you can get involved.

Tickets are limited so please book in advance. £3 for entry for those who can afford it as we have to cover screening costs. However, there is a concessions rate of £0 which you are able to use.

Come along with a friend, neighbour or family member: everyone is welcome.

Fundraising Tea – Saturday May 16th
