SAFEGUARDING

Children, Youth & Schools
Safeguarding underpins every aspect of our life together – worship, the running of the church and all relationships – and is everyone’s responsibility.

We recognise that everyone has different levels of vulnerability, and safeguarding is an integral feature of the Christian life within our churches. As well as complying fully with Diocesan Guidelines and instructions, we hold a Safeguarding Sunday annually using materials produced nationally and remind the congregation of the designated people within church.

We follow Best Practice in Safer Recruitment, especially for those with responsibility relating to children, young people or vulnerable adults. Risk Assessments are carried out for all church activities, especially those involving children and young people and vulnerable adults, and are recorded in the church Risk Assessment file.

Safeguarding is managed by a Safeguarding Officer and a team who have knowledge of people within the different services; they oversee policies and training and ensure we follow all requirements.
