ST HELEN’S & ST PETER’S
PASTORAL CARE
Pastoral Care is about fulfilling the command of Jesus that we love our neighbour as ourselves. We do this by listening, by giving time, and in practical help and visiting. It means each of us caring enough to notice and respond when others around us are in need. For example, in times of illness, family and personal difficulties and loss and bereavement. We also demonstrate this love by the support we offer at joyful times such as marriage and the birth of a baby.
For each of us there will be times that we can give care and times when we receive care. If you know of anyone who has need for additional support or care you can do one of the following:
Join our morning prayers on a Tuesday and give one of the group members the information that is needed.
Phone Christine 07870748773 or e mail Christine.anstice@yahoo.co.uk
Speak to a member of the clergy or one of the churchwardens.

ST HELEN’S CHURCH
COMMUNITY GROUP
The Wheathampstead Community Group has been serving the village of Wheathampstead and surrounding areas for 45 years. WCG is a registered charity that aims to provide help and support to any resident of the village, from organising transport to financial assistance.
ST HELEN’S
COMMUNITY FUND
The St Helen’s Community Fund has been set up to provide support to members of the local community who are in immediate need of assistance. We know this can be for all sorts of reasons and we are able to consider helping with money to pay for:
Food
Utility Bills (Heating / Electricity)
Clothing – Especially School Clothes
Essential Home Appliances
Travel
Exceptional Repair / Maintenance of Home
We can sometimes help with funding for short term emergency accommodation when no other alternative exists. The fund is primarily for residents of the Parish of Wheathampstead, and those who attend St Helen’s and St Peter’s Churches regularly. However, we may also be able to provide support, in the local community, to others: for example, those who are homeless.
Where it is practical we will purchase goods or services on behalf of the applicant, or to assist in making such a purchase. You can apply for assistance by contacting the Rector or Churchwardens either in person, by telephone or email.
Please print and complete the simple application form, by clicking here or pick up a copy of the St Helen’s Community Fund leaflet & application form from St Helen’s Church.
