Join us in St Helen’s Church for our Parish Communion Service at 10am. Our guest speaker, Karen Britton, will be talking about her visit to Lubumbashi last summer and the work of Kimbilio, including the thriving primary school now providing education for over 300 children. If you can’t join us in church, please join us online.  Click here or on the image above for the YouTube link.

There will be an opportunity to chat over coffee and a chance to buy items such as aprons and bags made from vibrant African prints

Join us at Kids Worship – 3.30pm in St Helen’s Church. Fun, informal worship with songs, stories and craft. Especially suitable for primary age children and smaller siblings, but all are welcome. Before the service we have refreshments and craft activities in the Chancel.

Wondering if there’s more to life? Come to Alpha and explore the Christian faith together. It’s for anyone who’s curious – even, or especially, if you’ve got doubts.

No judgement, no pressure.

The sessions are informal and relaxed: we begin with a meal (please let us know if you have dietary requirements), then watch a short video which unpacks a big question of life, faith and purpose and is designed to spark conversation.

Come along, see what you think. No obligation taster session on Wednesday 5th February 2025 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at The Rectory. Email office@sth-stp.org to book your place.

Week of Christian Unity Lunchtime Reflections
Tuesday Jan 21st  11.30am

You are warmly invited to join with other churches, both in the village and world wide, as we observe the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. This year, we celebrate 1,700 years since the Council of Nicaea, the worship service which has at its heart, the Nicene Creed. Reflecting this, the scripture readings for this year focus on belief.

We are invited to reflect on the story of Martha’s confession of faith in Jesus as narrated in John 11:17-27. Each is called to sit with Jesus’ provocative question to Martha: “Do you believe this?”

Please bring your own packed lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided.

Following our successful Ofsted inspection last summer, St Helen’s School are recruiting a Chair of Governors to work with our new headteacher and build on our recent success.

The Chair’s role is important and rewarding. Governors make a real difference to the children in the school, and the Chair provides essential strategic leadership. As a Church of England school, we welcome pupils from every part of our community.  The new chair does not need to be a Christian, but they will be committed to maintaining the school’s distinctive Christian ethos. A background of strategic leadership, education or governance would be an advantage.

If you, or someone you know might be interested in applying, speak to Richard, or email him on RevRichB@gmail.com
