The Alban Way has introduced them to different tools to help them be more resilient and has given them an opportunity to think about their spiritual development. The children would love to tell about what they have learnt and how they think it has helped them. All welcome, do join us.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 11-17 MAY 2025

Christian Aid Week this year is supporting farmers in Guatemala who are suffering from heat and drought due to the climate crisis.

Your donations will help give Aurelia and farmers like her agricultural training and tools for climate-resilient farming methods.

You can contribute to Wheathampstead Churches Together’s online collection by clicking here

Traditional red envelopes are at the back of the church if you prefer to donate by cash, cheque or charity voucher. Please return them in the church collection or to the church office.

Ascension Day Service
8pm Thursday 29th May
St John’s Southdown

Ascension Day is a red letter day in the church calendar – the day we celebrate the completion of Jesus’ earthly ministry and his return to heaven where he ‘is seated at God’s right hand on high’ and ‘ever lives to intercede for us’.  All are invited to join with other local Christians to mark this important day in the Christian Calendar.

You are invited to our charity partner, Azalea’s Brewing for Good benefit dinner on 15th May 2025 to raise vital funds for our Beans on Board Mobile Coffee Van. Join us to gain a flavour of the coffee van, glimpse the impact it will have, and even be in with a chance of winning a prize or two yourself.

Expect to celebrate, expect to be cherished and expect to launch with us, this brand new venture that will bring hope and relief to survivors of sex trafficking across Bedfordshire (as well as seriously good coffee to deserving customers!) Buy your ticket HERE

Can’t wait until then? Then join us at our prelude event, a Clothes Swap on the 26th April 2025, as we swap clothes and stories, and enjoy coffee and cake in honour of Lucie Moore, a founding volunteer and Azalea’s Chair of Trustees for 9 years. All funds raised from both events will go towards creating our mobile coffee van to empower survivors into an independent future. Find out more here: https://www.azalea.org.uk/beans-on-board
